At Little Wings, we believe that asking for help is an act of love, not something to be judged.

We understand how difficult it can be to make the decision to rehome a beloved bird. Life is unpredictable, and circumstances can change in ways we never expect. Whether it's due to health, finances, housing, family changes, or any other reason, we're here to support you with compassion and understanding.

The reason doesn't matter. What matters is that you're here because you care about your bird's future. Our goal is to provide a safe, judgment-free space where both birds and their people are treated with kindness, respect, and empathy.

Every bird deserves a safe, loving home. Explore our adoptable birds and help give one of these amazing companions the happy future they deserve.

Our Adoption Process

All of our birds complete a quarantine period and if needed, receive a health examination from our trusted avian specialists at The Links Road Animal & Bird Clinic.

Each bird is cared for in a foster home where they receive plenty of socialization and individual attention. We work to ensure they are comfortable interacting with people, healthy, and on good diets, before they are listed for adoption, helping make the transition as smooth and stress-free as possible for the birds, their new families, and those who lovingly entrusted them to our care.

Every bird is unique, with their own personality, preferences, and care needs. Because of this, we have an adoption screening process designed to help us get to know you, your home, and your lifestyle. Our goal isn't to judge, it's to ensure we can match you with the bird that is the best fit for both you and them, setting everyone up for a successful, lifelong relationship.

We also understand that, despite everyone's best intentions, sometimes an adoption isn't the right fit. If that happens, we ask that the bird be returned to us rather than rehomed elsewhere. We will gladly welcome them back into our care and refund your adoption fee. Our commitment is to every bird's lifelong safety and well-being, and we're here to support both our adopters and our birds every step of the way.

Boarding Services:

We also offer pet bird boarding.

As we are primarily a foster home, boarding space is limited and availability cannot always be guaranteed.

This doesn't mean your bird will receive any less attention. Every bird in our care is treated like family and receives daily interaction, fresh food and water, enrichment, and attentive care throughout their stay. We simply keep our boarding capacity small so that every bird, whether boarding or in foster care, receives the time, attention, and high standard of care they deserve.

If you're interested in boarding your bird, we recommend contacting us in advance to check availability and discuss your bird's individual needs.

Who we are:

Meet Dorsa

Hi, I'm Dorsa, a Registered Veterinary Technician with over five years of clinical experience. I spent my first three years working in a busy emergency veterinary hospital in downtown Toronto before transitioning to a general practice clinic, where I was able to work with more exotic animals.

Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of fostering and helping to rehome many different animals, from cats and reptiles to the birds that ultimately captured my heart. Every animal taught me something new, but I realized that providing a safe place for vulnerable animals and helping them find loving homes was what truly fulfilled me.

After experiencing some health challenges that required me to step away from working in a clinic full-time, I took the opportunity to reflect on what mattered most to me. That journey led me to discover my true passion: supporting both pet birds and the people who love them.

This rescue was created to be a safe, judgment-free space where birds receive the care, patience, and understanding they deserve, and where owners can find support without fear of criticism. Whether you're looking to adopt, need guidance, or have made the difficult decision to surrender a beloved companion, my goal is to help with compassion, honesty, and respect.

Meet Sandra

Sandra has shared her life with a variety of pet birds since childhood, giving her years of hands-on experience caring for companion birds of all kinds.

She became part of our rescue after adopting one of our successful rehomes, a beautiful two-year-old African Grey parrot. Inspired by our mission, Sandra chose to stay involved and has become an invaluable member of our team.

With her wealth of knowledge, compassionate approach, and genuine love for birds, Sandra helps support both our foster birds and the families who welcome them into their homes. Her experience and dedication play an important role in ensuring every bird receives the care, patience, and understanding they deserve.

Meet Vinny

Vinny is a fellow Veterinary Technician, dedicated foster, and an important part of the Little Wings team.

With his vet tech background and compassionate approach, Vinny brings valuable knowledge, experience, and care to every bird that comes through our doors. His understanding of animal health, behaviour, and individualized care helps ensure our foster birds receive the support they need while they wait for their next chapter.

In addition to fostering, Vinny is also our trusted transportation support, helping birds safely get where they need to go, whether that means getting to veterinary appointments, moving into foster care, or making their journey to a new family.

We are incredibly grateful to have Vinny as part of the Little Wings family, helping us provide a safe, loving, and supportive environment for birds and their people.

Our foster space was thoughtfully designed around the unique needs of companion birds, with every detail created to support their physical, emotional, and behavioural well-being.

We have created an environment that encourages natural behaviours through a variety of enrichment opportunities, including foraging activities, climbing structures, multiple bathing options, and plenty of room for birds to move, explore, and fly freely. Our goal was to create more than just a safe space—we wanted to create a true bird jungle gym where birds are encouraged to play, explore, and build confidence.

The space includes safely installed perches that can be comfortably accessed by birds of all abilities, including those with mobility challenges or special needs. We believe every bird deserves an environment where they can participate, explore, and feel comfortable regardless of their individual needs.

To support the health and comfort of both our birds and our home environment, multiple high-grade air purifiers run throughout the space to help reduce dust, dander, and airborne particles commonly associated with companion birds.

Beyond physical care, we dedicate time to building trust and positive relationships with each bird in our care. Through gentle interaction and simple training exercises, we encourage confidence, communication, and bonding experiences that they can carry with them into their forever homes.

Our vision is to help each bird feel safe, understood, and empowered—so they can begin their next chapter with the confidence and skills needed to thrive with their future family.
