Sunny and Rosy
Sunny and Rosy are a bonded pair of green cheek conures. While Rosy is a wild type, Sunny has a pineapple mutation, which is what makes him look more yellow and well, look like, a pineapple!
Because they are a bonded pair, they can’t be separated from each other, they must find a home together.
Even though they’re always together they have their own personalities and quirks so lets get to know them, one at a time.
Rosy
Rosy hatched in February 2023 and was hand-raised with lots of love and care. She was originally bonded to an older conure named Chico, who tragically passed away. With the love of her family and the companionship of Sunny, Rosy was able to heal and find happiness again.
Rosy is a true love-bug! She loves being around people and spending time with Sunny. She needs a home with previous bird experience, as she can deliver a painful nip when overstimulated. Thankfully, she communicates her feelings well, and learning to read her body language is key to building trust and preventing unwanted nipping.
Although she doesn't enjoy scritches from people, Rosy loves perching on your hand, shoulder, or head while she naps or preens. She gives kisses, offers high-fives when she's in the mood, and even speaks a little Farsi and English!
Rosy enjoys shredding toys, foraging puzzles and most importantly, she loves bathing. She is fully flighted and must remain so, as flying is essential to her mobility and allows her to create space when she feels uncomfortable.
Rosy is a clever, affectionate, and expressive girl looking for an experienced home that respects her boundaries and appreciates her big personality!
Rosy is DNA-sexed, and additional information about her history is available upon request.
Sunny
Sunny hatched in the summer of 2024 and is a handsome pineapple green-cheek conure with a beautiful, unique colouring. He is a confirmed male and shares a special bond with Rosy.
Sunny is a sweet, social, and clever little guy! He loves being around people and spending time with Rosy. He needs a home with previous bird experience, he doesn’t nip but he’s sensitive and requires a family that can try to read his body language and respond with the compassion he deserves.
Sunny enjoys being close to his favourite people, as long as Rosy is nearby. He's also a little linguist, speaking both Farsi and English!
When it comes to playtime, Sunny loves shredding toys, especially bird safe wood toys, and exploring foraging and puzzle toys. He is fully flighted and must remain so, as flying is essential to his mobility and allows him to create space when he feels uncomfortable.
Sunny is a charming, intelligent boy looking for an experienced home that respects his boundaries, embraces his personality, and understands the importance of his bond with Rosy!
Rosy and Sunny are looking for a new home after their previous family recognized that they needed more time and socialization with people than they were able to provide due to changes in their circumstances.
These birds are deeply loved, and this was not an easy decision for their family. Out of love and with their birds’ best interests at heart, they found the courage to ask for help, hoping to give Rosy and Sunny the opportunity for a home where their social needs can be met and they can continue to thrive.
